The Kiddos

It has been quite a while since my last blog entry. We have been the typical busy family lately, which of course means time becomes warped and before we know it it’s already mid-June. The goal of my blog is to journal my life and my families life so be prepared for a load of blogs comprised of details of our life as of late. For now I shall give updates on Spencer and Abigail. Pretty much my children are my life right now.

Spencer communicates so well. We are always amazed at what he is able to explain and understand. It makes such a big difference when dealing with the terrible tantrums. The tantrums can be difficult, but I have to remember that this is a stage. I also have to remember that even though Spencer communicates well he still has the emotional capacity of a toddler. He loves to learn and explore. He loves going to the park and can do pretty much anything on the playground. He is turning into a little dare devil, which scares me! I’m trying to give him his space and allow him to be independent, but I also have to make sure he is safe. It’s a fine balance that we struggle with daily. I would rather not have my boy end up in the hospital with broken bones as much as Brady did as a child. Spencer is such a cute big brother. Abigail adores Spencer and laughs for him more than anyone else. I’m really looking forward to the day when Abigail and Spencer can play together more.

Abigail is a very chill baby, which I love. She loves to observe everything around her. If I’m holding her she is usually a very happy baby, unless she is tired or hungry. She is a big momma’s girl right now, which I guess is expected. The biggest factor contributing to her loving momma so much is her success at breastfeeding; which is a whole new experience for me. When I say she is a momma’s girl, basically I mean that she is a bit of a complainer if she can’t see me (and knows I’m near), or if I’m not holding her. She loves her daddy, but sometimes…okay, most of the time she just needs her momma. I’m not going to lie; I really love comforting her when she needs me. Spencer wasn’t much of a momma’s boy in the same way. He wasn’t successful at nursing so both Brady and I fed him with a bottle. Abigail refuses to take a bottle at this point (I prefer this), which means I’m her only source of food. I actually really love it! I love being a mom, I love feeling needed, I love breastfeeding…I love it all!

This is a video of Abigail giggling. Amber was babysitting the kids so we could go out to celebrate our anniversary (Amber is awesome!). In this video Amber is teaching Spencer how to beat box. Spencer is under the table during most of the video, that is who Abigail is looking at. I love the relationship Abigail and Spencer have, they laugh together like this daily. So cute!

Cute kids. You are a great Mom, Megs, and I am glad that things seem to be going really well with Abigail as your 2nd baby. I would love to get together soon...I wish that things haven't been so crazy on my end too with Keegan and Liam. We will have to plan something soon, k?
