Out of Town

I'm back in business. I was unable to blog over the weekend because we were somewhat out of town. I say somewhat because we were still in Utah, but not at our home. Angie (my sister-in-law) and her family came down from Idaho for a wedding. We watched their girls and Kevin and Randi's kids on Friday. We then spent the weekend with the family at Kevin and Randi's home. We had a wonderful time catching up with family. We talked, we laughed, we went to Cousin Carter's baseball game, we played at parks, we went on walks, we had a grand time. Spencer loved playing with his cousins and now misses them a lot.

It was really interesting to watch how Spencer interacted with his cousins around his age. While the girls played with the dolls, the kitchen, etc. Spencer managed to find all the cars, trucks, and toy guns in the house to play with instead. I know this may sound a bit far fetched, but this example reminded me of the divine roles we have as men and women. The differences between Sons and Daughters of God start at such a young age. While some differences are in fact learned behaviors we also have inherent differences within us. As I watched the little girls I could already see their inherent desire to nurture as they cuddled, kissed, and laughed with my baby girl. They were so attentive and aware of Abigail and her needs. I can't wait to watch my little girl grow up into a nurturing Daughter of God.
