(both of these pictures were taken today, 17 weeks)
I am 17 weeks pregnant and I’m already ready to have this baby. This sure is going to be a long pregnancy. When I say I’m ready to have this baby it’s not because of pain or anything of that nature, rather it’s because I’m anxious to meet and hold my little baby! So far my pregnancy has gone pretty smooth. I’ve had the normal morning sickness; I must add that it has been a lot better this pregnancy than my first pregnancy . However, even though I’m not throwing up all the time I am constantly nauseous, which is difficult when taking care of a rambunctious 2 year old. I’ve done both the constant throwing up and the constant nausea, and believe me neither of these scenarios are enjoyable. I was hoping that when I stepped out of the first trimester that I would leave the nausea behind, but no such luck yet. I’m hoping to be feeling better soon, especially because I’ve grown quite tired of this stage in pregnancy. I would really like to have a chat with whoever said the second trimester was the honeymoon stage of pregnancy. I’m ready for this honeymoon to begin already…
I’ve had a few prenatal appointments and thus far the baby seems to be growing at a normal and healthy rate. Due to the fact that I am a high risk pregnancy I’ve been seeing my normal OB and a Perinatologist. So far they haven’t been able to tell me much because it’s still pretty early in the pregnancy. Basically what I’ve been told is that my water broke most likely due to an infection caused by my gallstones and pancreatitis (which was caused by my pregnancy, oh the irony). I will be seeing the Perinatologist again at 20 weeks for an ultrasound and we will see if they can give me any more information. I figure that I’m just going to have to wait it out and see what happens towards the end. I’ll keep you all posted when I find out more information. I’m really looking forward to my 20 week appointment because we will find out the sex of the baby!
