My Dad was admitted to City of Hope this month for his second bone marrow transplant. The first bone marrow transplant took place in April when he was allowed to donate his own stem cells. For this second bone marrow transplant Sean Catherall, my Dad's brother donated his stem cells to my Dad. What a blessing that they were able to find a match for my Dad within his family, they actually found two matches, including his sister Heather. My Dad received the transplant about a week ago, and is now recovering and waiting for his body to accept the cells. My Dad is doing well, and it looks as though his body is accepting the cells quite nicely. He is dealing with some side effects, but he is still able to eat solid food, (unlike most patients there, who are hooked up to IV's). My Dad has been immensely blessed throughout this process. We are looking forward to a full recovery.
When he was at City of Hope, (for his first bone marrow transplant) in April I made it a goal to blog everyday, to provide him with some reading material. It is my goal to do the same this time around, while he recovers. I want to uplift his spirits as much as I can, since I can't be there in person. Enjoy the blogs Dad! Wishing I could visit you!
Here are a few videos in the meantime:
Here is a video of Spencer playing t-ball. In this video he is hitting the ball using one hand.
Here he is hitting the ball using two hands. Playing baseball runs in the genes. We are so excited for the day when he can play with a team!
Here is a video of Spencer singing, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"
Spencer singing, "I Am a Child of God"
