My little Girl is 3 months now. She is an absolute delight. She is a very happy baby right now, which we are really enjoying. She outgrew the colic stage and now only cries when she needs something. Usually when she is fussy all I have to do is prop her on my lap and make eye contact with her, then she is all smiles, it’s adorable. She is sleeping through the night, usually about 5-6 hours straight, sometimes more. I feel like a completely different woman with the sleep I’m getting now. She is still breastfeeding very well and it now only takes her about 10-15 minutes to eat, sometimes even less. So even when she does wake up in the middle of the night it’s not too bad because she is back to sleep within a half hour, I really can’t complain. I’m now completely confident that I can breastfeed her successfully for her first year.
I love the bond we have as Mother and Daughter. I’m really looking forward to the many years I will get to play and build a loving relationship with her. I’m especially looking forward to the chance I will have to teach her all about what it means to be a Daughter of God. Over the years, as I’ve become a mother I’ve paid special attention to the counsel we have received from Prophets and Apostles about becoming a successful parent. I really enjoyed the recent Conference for this very reason. There was an abundance of counsel regarding parenthood and motherhood. There were so many promises made for following simple guidelines. At least the guidelines seem simple for the wonderful blessings we receive if followed. I feel we have been given so many tools to rear children in a sometimes frightening world. I used to feel worried about bringing children into this world. I now feel confident and assured that if we follow the counsel of the Lord our children will be blessed and have the ability to stand tall in an ever ominous world.
She is getting so chubby, I love it! She already weighs in at 14 lbs. Oh, and yes she is sprouting some hair on top of her head, and it's auburn just like mine!
