My Gallbladder All Gone

Where to begin...Friday night Brady, Spencer, and I were on our way to a mission reunion in Salt Lake. I had been feeling sick for the past few days, but decided to go anyway because I knew how important it was to Brady. While we were driving I began to feel very nauseous and had a very sharp pain in my stomach. I asked Brady if he would drop me off at Kimberly Breakwell's house because I wasn't feeling well. By the time we got to Kimberly's house my pain had become pretty severe so we decided to go to urgent care. For some background info, I had been getting severe back pain about every week since Spencer was born. The week of Brady's missionary reunion this same back pain returned along with a new sharp pain in my upper abdomen. While I was at urgent care they took some blood tests that would need to be sent to a lab. The Doctor couldn't give any final diagnosis without seeing the results from the blood tests, but could tell something wasn't right and that perhaps I had Pancreatitis. That night was one of the worst nights of my life. The pain had become so severe, I was in a fetal position on our bed crying because I couldn't find any relief. Brady gave me a priesthood blessing and I was finally able to fall asleep. When I woke up that morning the pain had subsided and I was finally able to eat, so I ate an apple. We began to watch conference, and everything seemed fine. At around 1:00 pm I got a phone call from a nurse at urgent care. She said that they got the results back from the lab regarding my blood tests. She said that there was a high amount of some medical term in my liver and that I needed to go to the emergency room. Brady, Spencer, and I then rushed to the emergency room. We got to the emergency room around 2:00 pm and I finally got into a room around 4:15pm. Kimberly Breakwell came to help us out with Spencer, she was a blessing that weekend! They took some more tests, and an ultra sound. It took what seemed like forever to get a final diagnosis. I In fact had Pancreatitis, which was caused by a Gallstone that had left the Gallbladder. The doctor said that I would be admitted to the hospital because I needed surgery to remove the Gallbladder. Apparently, the Gallbladder is one of those organs that can be removed without causing any harm to the human body. I also learned that its not that uncommon for women to have their Gallbladder removed after giving birth. So that night I was admitted to the hospital. The surgeon told us that he would need to wait for the Pancreatitis to calm down before he could perform surgery because the organs were inflamed. The nurses hooked me up to an IV and gave me some wonderful drugs, which took care of the pain and nausea. I pretty much slept and visited until my surgery on Monday morning. I felt very loved that weekend! I had many visitors and phone calls. I could feel every one's prayers pouring in as I was very comforted. My Mom came on Sunday night, to help take care of me and Spencer. Brady and my Mom took turns taking care of Spencer and feeding him formula. I wasn't able to nurse Spencer because I was on so many drugs. It was very difficult for me not to be able to nurse him, or even hold him! I'm so grateful that my Mom and Husband were there for me; I would have been a mess without them. My surgery went well and I am in full recovery. We were able to leave the hospital Tuesday evening. I'm so grateful for modern medicine. I'm especially grateful to my Father in Heaven and Savior for watching over me and blessing me. I'm now at home resting and feeling so much better. My Mom is still here helping me out with Spencer and household chores. She is such a wonderful Mother! Brady has been so wonderful as well! I'm just so grateful that everything went well! I'm very blessed.
